Ehab is Palestinian, grew up in Damascus and has been living in Germany for many years. Ben was born in Israel and most recently lived in Portugal. Both accepted the YET Company’s invitation to develop a dance piece together with Fabian Cohn — right now, and despite everything.
In the stage space hangs an expansive cloud-like structure: a projection surface for expectations, attributions, and the weight of an ever-present conflict. Two people move in and with this cloud — sometimes side by side, sometimes opposite one another, sometimes together. Two who are constantly confronted with questions of identity and belonging. People with stories who listen to one another. People we can listen to.
The dance piece “Behind the Clouds” is an invitation to endure complexity and ambivalence together.
